St. Catherine’s R.C. Primary School is a Denominational Primary School built in 1966. We serve the South East of Edinburgh area. The school catchment area comprises the areas of Gracemount and Burdiehouse.
The current school roll is approximately 216. There are seven classes in our school, P1 – P7. The current Nursery roll is approximately 40. There are two classes in the nursery (Morning and Afternoon).

We are committed to helping all our students reach their full potential by fostering a common vision which embraces faith formation, teaching and learning, personal and social development and partnership between the school and the wider community.


St. Catherine’s Primary School has been chosen by The Scottish Government to be part of The Scottish Attainment Challenge. We benefit from extra funding as part of this so that we can strive to narrow the poverty related attainment gap.
