EQUALITIES

At St. Catherine’s RC Primary School, we are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all pupils, staff, parents and carers irrespective of their race, gender, disability, belief, sexual orientation, age or socio-economic background.  Through our mission statement, Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES), The Catholic Charter and our beliefs, we aim to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all members of our school and parish family feel proud of their identity and ability to participate fully in our school life.

We tackle bullying and discrimination through the positive promotion of equality, by challenging bullying (on and offline) and stereotypes and by creating an inclusive environment in which all are welcome.  At St. Catherine’s, we believe that diversity is a strength which should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn, teach and visit us. We are committed to our duty to The Equality Act 2010 and our anti-bullying and equality policy and procedures reflect this.

This page will give you the school’s position on anti-bullying, cyber-bullying and equality, our school’s policy and helpful links and documents. We hope you find it useful.

As a school, we are always trying to be better. If you want to chat to us about any aspects of this information or how you feel we could be better, please do get in touch. We would also love to hear if you think aspects of our practice are working well, this we can share with staff and pupils as well as our Pupil Equity Team.

Thank you for your support in making this all happen too.

God Bless,

Mr. Hunter
